Which products does Kalpataru manufacture?
What is the difference between single and double ferrule fittings?
A single ferrule fitting uses one ferrule to both grip and seal the tube. Our double ferrule fittings split those jobs — the back ferrule grips the tube and the front ferrule seals against the body and tube wall — which gives better vibration resistance and a more reliable seal, and allows the joint to be remade many times.
What is the difference between 2, 3 and 5 valve manifolds?
A 2 valve manifold has an isolate and a vent/test valve and is used with gauge pressure transmitters. A 3 valve manifold adds an equalising valve between the high and low sides of a differential pressure transmitter. A 5 valve manifold adds two vent/test valves for calibration without removing the transmitter. We make R, T and H type bodies in each family.
What is a mono flange valve used for?
A mono flange valve puts block and bleed isolation into a single compact flanged body that bolts directly to the process flange, replacing a spool of separate valves. It is available in single block & bleed and double block & bleed designs, in 1/2" to 2" flange sizes from ASME 150# to 2500#.
Why fit a snubber or gauge saver in front of a pressure gauge?
A snubber damps pressure pulsation so the pointer stays readable and the gauge mechanism lasts longer. A gauge saver closes automatically when line pressure exceeds its set point, protecting the gauge from overpressure; our gauge savers are available with set ranges from 0.3 to 400 bar.
Which thermowell and diaphragm seal types do you make?
Thermowells are made in threaded, flanged, welded and sanitary designs. Diaphragm seals are made in flanged, threaded, welded, sanitary, DIN and inline designs, with flushing rings and other process connections on request.
Are your fittings interchangeable with other brands?
Our double ferrule fittings are manufactured to standard industry dimensions and are dimensionally interchangeable with commonly used international brands. For best performance we recommend using nuts, ferrules and bodies from the same manufacturer on any one joint.
Which materials of construction are available?
Standard production is in SS 316 and SS 316L. We also manufacture in SS 304, SS 321, Monel 400, Inconel 600 / 625, Hastelloy C-276, Duplex and Super Duplex, Alloy 20, Carbon Steel and Brass. See the material grades chart for the ASTM specification of each.
What is the difference between SS 316 and SS 316L?
Both contain 2–3% molybdenum for chloride and pitting resistance. SS 316L has a lower carbon limit (0.030% max against 0.08% max), which reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion after welding. Bar stock is commonly dual certified 316/316L.
How are ferrules hardened?
Front and back ferrules are case hardened so they bite into the tube wall while the fitting body stays softer. This produces a repeatable seal and allows the fitting to be remade several times.
Can you supply material for sour service (NACE)?
Yes. Fittings and valves can be supplied with materials and hardness controlled to NACE MR0175 for sour (H2S) service when this is specified in your enquiry.
What surface finishes are offered?
Standard machined finish is supplied as default. Electropolished, passivated and sanitary finishes are available for pharmaceutical and food-grade applications on request.
Are material test certificates provided?
Yes. EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates can be supplied against the heat number of the raw material used for your order. Heat numbers are marked on bodies for traceability.
What tube sizes do your compression fittings cover?
Fractional tube OD from 1/8" to 1" (1/8", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1") and metric tube OD from 3 mm to 25 mm (3, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25 mm).
What pressure can the tube fittings handle?
Compression tube fittings are rated up to 6000 PSI (414 bar). In practice the system rating is set by the tubing — its OD, wall thickness and material. Our tube pressure chart gives allowable working pressures for SS 316 tubing.
What are the pressure ratings of your valves?
Needle, manifold and gauge valves are offered in 3000, 6000 and 10000 PSI ratings depending on the model, size and material. End connections are available from 1/4" to 1" NPT or BSP.
What are the ball valve ratings?
Ball valves are offered in 2000 PSI and 6000 PSI ratings at 100 °C. As with any soft-seated valve, the allowable pressure reduces as temperature rises, so share your operating temperature with the enquiry.
Which flange ratings are available for thermowells?
Flanged thermowells are made with 1/2" to 3" flanges from ANSI 150# to 1500#, and with DIN flanges from DN25 to DN100 in PN10 to PN100.
What sizes and classes do mono flange valves come in?
Mono flange valves are made in 1/2" to 2" flange sizes, from ASME 150# to 2500# class.
Which threads and end connections are available?
NPT (male and female), BSPP, BSPT, UNF and metric threads, compression tube ends, socket weld, butt weld and flanged connections to ANSI and DIN ratings. See the thread data chart for NPT vs BSP differences.
Which standards do you manufacture to?
Products are manufactured in line with applicable ASTM material standards, ASME B1.20.1 and ISO 228 thread standards, and ASME B16.5 for flanged connections.
What certifications does Kalpataru hold?
Kalpataru Pipe & Fittings is ISO 14001 certified (AQSR), ZED certified and a registered MSME.
How are valves tested before dispatch?
Valves undergo shell and seat testing with air under water or hydrostatic testing as specified, and the results are recorded against the batch.
Do you offer PMI and third party inspection?
Yes. Positive Material Identification (PMI) can be carried out on request, and third party inspection (TPI) by your nominated agency can be arranged if your project requires it.
Can products be cleaned for oxygen service?
Yes. Fittings and valves can be supplied cleaned and packed for oxygen service when specified at the time of order.
What documentation is supplied with an order?
A test certificate, material certificate where requested, packing list and invoice are supplied. Third party inspection reports are included where TPI is part of the order.
How do I request a quotation?
Use the enquiry form or email info@kalpatarupipe.com with the product, size, end connection, material, pressure rating and quantity. Drawings and bills of material can be attached to the email.
What is the typical delivery time?
Standard items held in stock are dispatched within a few working days. Manufactured-to-order and special material items are confirmed at the time of order.
Do you manufacture custom configurations?
Yes. Send us a drawing or a sample and we will quote for special lengths, non-standard threads, unusual material combinations and custom hook-up assemblies.
Do you supply outside Maharashtra?
Yes. We supply across India through road and courier transport, and handle export enquiries on request.
